Leaving Your Home

All good things come to an end, but when it is time to move on to pastures new, residents could find themselves with a recharge to pay, if unwanted items of furniture or rubbish are left behind when they leave.

It is important that you let us know well in advance if you are moving out of your home as it helps us to prepare for the next resident to move in as quickly as possible. We now have a Termination Incentive Scheme. Just inform us in advance that you are planning to move, giving us time to prepare your home ready for the next resident and we will give you £100 to help you with your move. When you leave your home, please tell us at least four weeks before you go, either in writing or by completing your details below, including your name, address and the date you are leaving. The notice period must expire on a Monday, so if keys are not received by 12 noon on Monday, a further weeks rent will be charged.

When the four weeks are over, please hand in your keys at our office. If we do not receive your keys, we will have to change the lock and make a charge for the work. We also request that you make sure your rent is paid up to date and that the property is left clean, tidy and all belongings are removed. If the property is damaged, or rubbish is left, we will have to charge you to put things right. Please be aware that if you leave with outstanding rent arrears this may prevent you from being given a tenancy by either The Dane Housing Group or another landlord.
