
Are You Eligible?
You need to meet the following criteria:-
You must be able to:
- Demonstrate that you cannot afford to buy a home outright on the open market that would meet your housing needs, but can afford the mortgage repayments and subsidised rent etc for the equity share you are purchasing.
and meet one or more of the following:-
- A first time buyer with a local connection to the area or purchasing for the first time after a relationship breakdown.
- A person taking up employment in the local authority area.
- A local authority, Housing Association or Registered Social Landlord (RSL) tenant.
- On a local authority, Housing Association or RSL waiting list.
- An elderly household who requires accommodation more suitable to your needs in an unaffordable area.
- Obliged to relocate due to housing clearance or regeneration proposals.
- A key worker or in a profession that is key to the local economy, in an area where you cannot afford to buy a home.
In some local authority areas, certain local qualification criteria is set and priority may be given to certain applicants and other restrictions may apply.
